Why CBD?

CBD is 100% Federally Legal!

CBD is completely natural, and our product contains no artificial flavorings or preservatives! The human body has a wonderful internal system called the "endocannabinoid system", this system has receptors located all throughout the body. Cannabinoids like CBD interact with the endocannabinoid system at the receptors to help keep the body balanced, and even encourage the body to produce more of its natural cannabinoids!

Our CO2 extracted CBD Hemp Oil is 100% FEDERALLY LEGAL

The Endocannabinoid System

The endogenous cannabinoid system is named after the cannabis plant, and is one of the most important physiologic systems in establishing and maintaining human health. The endocannabinoid system, along with cannabinoid receptors, are found all throughout the body. In each place, the cannabinoid system carries out different tasks, but with the same goal in mind: homeostasis. Homeostasis is defined as the maintenance of internal stability, while the external environment fluctuates.

Cannabinoids promote homeostasis at all levels of biological life. From the subcellular, to the organism, and perhaps further.  Endocannabinoids and cannabinoids are also found at various body system intersections. This allows communication and coordination between cells of different types. The endocannabinoid system is a literal bridge between body and mind. The endocannabinoid system regulates internal and cellular homeostasis, but cannabinoids can also have an effect on a person’s relationship with their external environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is CBD?
    • CBD (cannabidiol) is one of over 60 active chemical compounds (or ‘cannabinoids’) in the cannabis plant. It’s usually the second-most abundant cannabinoid in marijuana, and the most abundant in hemp.
  • Does CBD come from hemp or marijuana, or both? And what’s the difference?
    • CBD can be found in both hemp and marijuana, but is most abundant in hemp.
    • Marijuana and Hemp are different varieties of the same species of plant (Cannabis Sativa). Think cherry tomato vs a regular beefsteak tomato.
    • Industrial Hemp is legally distinguished from marijuana by having below 0.3% THC.
  • What’s the difference between THC and CBD?
    • THC affects the brain by binding to naturally-occurring CB-1 receptors in the central nervous system. CBD is a differently-shaped molecule that binds to CB-2 receptors in cell and body tissues outside the central nervous system.
    • THC is also a psychoactive compound, meaning it produces the “high”. CBD is non-psychoactive.
  • Will CBD get me high?
    • No, CBD is non-psychoactive meaning it does not produce a “high”.
    • In fact, CBD can be used to counteract the high produced from THC.
  • How do I take CBD?
    • Most CBD products come in the form of an oil, that is taken sublingually (or under the tongue). These are the most effective products for daily use.
    • CBD can also come in capsules, vapable liquids, topical creams, edibles, and you can even find high-CBD strains of smokable cannabis.
  • CBD can be found in marijuana, what are some high-CBD strains?
    • Charlotte’s Web and ACDC are two well known high-CBD strains.
    • MediHaze, CBD Mango Haze, Blueberry Essence, Hawaiian Dream, Sour Tsunami, and Darkstar are other notable ones.
  • What is CBD Oil?
    • CBD oil is a liquid cannabis extract that contains virtually pure CBD.
    • Our product is put in a pure organic hemp seed oil, but you can find CBD put in other oils as well.
  • How does CBD work?
    • Short answer: CBD functions by binding to cannabinoid receptors in the body’s endocannabinoid system. These receptors have been found in virtually every cell and tissue type in the human body (hence the seemingly endless array of CBD uses).
    • For a longer answer, ask one of our CBD Experts.
  • Is CBD Legal in Kentucky?
    • Under the 2014 U.S. Farm Bill, industrial hemp was made legal.
    • Any CBD product from industrial hemp is 100% federally legal.
    • Any CBD product from industrial hemp is also 100% legal in the state of Kentucky.
    • Any CBD product no matter what plant it comes from is legal in medical states.
  • Is CBD natural?
    • Yes! CBD is a completely natural compound found within the cannabis plant. It is NOT synthetically produced.
  • Do all marijuana strains have CBD?
    • Not all marijuana strains have CBD in the flowering buds, but yes all strains contain CBD somewhere in the plant.
    • This is why those who use marijuana can still benefit from CBD!
  • How is CBD extracted from the cannabis plant?
    • CO2 extraction is the best method to extract pure CBD isolate, in which state it exists as a clear/white crystal. This method is preferred over other methods because it leaves practically zero traces of chemical contaminants in the end product.
  • Are there side effects to using CBD? Is it safe?
    • The only significant danger/side effect of the drug is in vaping CBD oils that were produced using a thinning agent, such as propylene glycol. When burned/vaped, propylene glycol produces formaldehyde, which is a known carcinogen. CBD oils produced by CO2 extraction are much safer and more pure than oils that were produced with liquid alcohol/thinning agents.
    • Other than that, most research has concluded that CBD is perfectly safe with no known side effects, though some users have reported drowsiness, lightheadedness, low blood pressure, and dry mouth.
  • Can I cook with CBD?
    • Absolutely! CBD infused oils are a great addition to any recipe!
  • Are there medical studies on CBD?
    • Thousands of scientific/medical peer-reviewed studies have been carried out specifically on CBD.
    • ProjectCBD is a non-profit organization devoted to documenting the research on CBD. You can find them at www.projectcbd.org
  • Do topical CBD products work?
    • CBD topicals have proven effective for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, as well as for localized muscle soreness and joint pain resulting from arthritis-induced inflammation.
    • CBD Expert Tip: Our tincture is made with organic hemp seed oil, making it safe for topical use!!
  • Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD?
    • There is a chance that any CBD product will produce a positive drug test.
    • As mentioned before, CBD is 100% legal federally and in the state of Kentucky.
    • We encourage customers to be proactive and speak with their HR department.
    • Most people will not fail a drug test using CBD, but it can happen.
  • How do I know how much to take?
    • This is a tricky question with no definitive answer, it really comes down to how your body interacts with the product.
    • Most adults use anywhere from 10mg-50mg a day for moderate and under conditions. Serious conditions could need up to 100mg+.
    • One dropperful of our product is 33mg, we recommend taking 33mg everyday for a week. At the end of that week you can see if you need to adjust the dose based on how you’re feeling. You keep repeating this process until you have your ideal dose.
